Halloween
Halloween was pretty amazing. In the morning I helped my host mom in the garden and I actually liked it. Sounds weird but I did like it. After that we made our Pumpkins. I made a Tinkerbelle and a few stars on it. My host dad's pumpkin looked amazing. He made Frankenstein and it just looked amazing. When we finished our pumpkins I hurried to get in my Super girl costume and get my hair done so we could get to my host sisters and my friend's house on time. We got there on time and guess what: We were the first. Beside one of my other friends was no one there. During we were waiting we ate snacks and talked. It was cold on that day and I wasn't wearing a shirt under my dress so my friend borrowed me one of hers. It wasn't warm but at least not that cold than it would be without the shirt. When everyone was finally arrived we took pictures and than we went from house to house and asked for "Trick or Treat". At the beginning it was kind of weird cause it was still light outside and I just wasn't used to go Trick or Treating on Halloween. When it started to get dark than it started to make fun. And it was a lot of fun. I got many candy that I had no idea what it was, I talked a lot with my friends, we were laughing and at the end, when we were back at our friends house, all of my friends were charring there candy, switched the candy that they don't like with something that they like. I was just sitting there cause I had no idea if I give something away that's good or not. So I kept all of my candy and after they changed all their candy, all of my friends went downstairs with me and made me try all the American candy, that I never had before. The most of it was disgusting. It was to sweet, had no flavor or was just gross. I definitely prefer German candy. What I liked most about Halloween and going from house to house was the decoration that the houses had. Some had huge pumpkins in front of their house and the faces from these pumpkins were pretty cool. At one house the hole garage was decorated and you could go in their, choose your candy, adult got alcohol and in the driveway were two animals that, if you step on the button, would jump on you. People always stepped on it and always got scared of it. It was funny. I loved that and I really enjoyed Halloween.
Pumpkin picking
The day we went pumpkin picking was an interesting day. Me and my host sister had a sleepover at one of our friends house. It was spontaneously so we didn't have any clothes for the next day. So I just put on the clothes from the day before. I really didn't feel good. It was really cold on that day and I was freezing. Our friends mom brought us to the place where we met my host parents. They brought some warmer clothes for me, because it was actually snowing on that day. Not much but a little bit. Anywise after we switched into the other car we droved to the pumpkin place. It was really nice there. Cold but nice. We droved into the fields and there were so many pumpkins. I never really saw that before so it was pretty cool to see so many pumpkins at one place. In Germany we usually buy our pumpkins in a store. We walked into the fields to find the perfect pumpkin and when we found it we went as fast as we could back into the warm car. At the actual place where you could by the pumpkin was a bonfire, a place with animals that you could feed (most were goats) and a little store where you could buy food and something to drink. We got Hot Chocolate, and Fries. It was really good. When we finished eating we sat at the bonfire, finished our Hot Chocolate and went back to the car. We droved home to put the pumpkins out of the car, and change clothes. I smelled like Bonfire and my clothes weren't warm enough. So I changed in something warmer and than we droved to a place with lot's of scores. You could buy Maple Sirup, Cotton Candy, Scarfs and lot´s of more. There was a live band who played music in the background. The atmosphere with all this people, who were laughing or talking, and than the music let me feel like I´m in a movie that takes place in America. I felt so american. I don´t know why. There was a tent where different restaurants from this area sold their food. I had Pasta with lobster and it was so good. We went into a small store where you could buy anything. It was a cute store. We had Maple Cotton Candy. It was really good Cotton Candy. I think it was a good day.

Clubs in School
Clubs in school are a great way to find new friends, get lots of new experiences, and try out new sports. On my school are lots of clubs. The typical sport clubs like Football, Baseball, Basketball, and Cheerleading. But we also have Tennis, Cross Country, Soccer, Hockey, Swimming, Softball, and lots of other sports as clubs on Tantasqua. If you don´t want to do sports you can join other clubs too. On my school is a creative writing club. If you love writing you can join this club. We also have an Anime Club, a Book club, an International Students Club, a photography club, the Newspaper, the Yearbook, a be good to people club, we have a dance team, a show choir, a Dungeons and Dragons Club, a Gaming Club, a History Club, and Clubs where you can learn things for your future career (if you know what you want to do), and lots of other clubs. There are so many clubs on my school and I think there is at least one club that you would love to join. I´m joining the Newspaper, the Feels like Monday club and the International Students Club. In the Newspaper we write articles about what´s going on in the world. I wrote an article about my first week in an american High School and the differences between my old school and my High School. In the Feels like Monday Club we´re doing videos that are more for fun that for anything else. We do things that have no sense but that´s okey. As long as I have Fun I´m joining the club. http://www.feelslikemonday.com
In the International Students Club we´re helping kids in Africa or other countries who are poor or
don´t have enough food. On December 10th we´re all brining food from our country and after school other students, parents and teachers are coming and can try the food. We get money for that so we can start other projects.
In spring I want to do Tennis and hopefully I come into the team. I have lots of Fun in my clubs and I found a few friends in the clubs. They are really nice and I have lots of Fun with them. The best Thing you can do is, when you got your school and host family you can go the the school website and check out the clubs. Usually they show the clubs that you can join on the website. Than you can decide what you want to join and if you have to go to the try-outs you not gonna miss them.

Homecoming❣ - Spend a Night in Hollywood
Basically Homecoming is like a club in Germany. The only differences are: At Homecoming is no alcohol, adults and the police are there (I don´t know about other High Schools but at my the police was there) and you wear fancy clothes to it. Homecoming is also much shorter than the time you spend in a club. My Homecoming was from 7pm to 10pm and a club is usually from 8 or 9 pm to midnight or (if your 18 or if you have a letter from your mom that your allowed to and that you have an 18 years old person with you) the hole night. The rest is the same. Loud music, dancing and both is lot of fun.
Than we drove to school. The dance took place in the gym. We had to wait until they let us in and when I was in the gym I was impressed how beautiful it looked. They made the Entrance like a red carpet because the topic of our Homecoming was: Spend a Night in Hollywood. It looked so beautiful. But the stupidest thing I´ve ever heard was: You just by new High Heels for the pictures. For the actual dance you put your shoes off, put them on the side of the gym and you dance just on your feet. At the beginning I felt really weird to dance. After a while when the dance floor was fuller and everyone was dancing I start to dance too. I still felt weird but after two or three songs it was okay and I had lots of fun. Honestly I was glad that I had a shorter dress. It was so warm in the gym. So for Homecoming: buy a short dress!! The music was so good. Some of the songs I didn´t know but that was okay. The end was really suddenly. I don´t know. You had so much fun, enjoyed the music and the atmosphere and than they say: ´Now it´s the last song.´and than it´s over. You go home. I was like: ´Seriously? That´s it? The evening just started and it´s over? Okay that was short.´ But when I look back I could´t imagine a better Homecoming. It was just a beautiful evening.

New York City
One Word to describe New York City: Awesome! I think NY is the most impressing, loudest, and biggest I know. And I saw many cities. In the morning my host sister, host mom and one of my and my host sisters friend went to the city by the subway. I think using the New Yorker subway was kind of scary. I think subways in general are scary. It was my friends first time traveling with a subway so she was excited about that.
| Me,my friend and my host sister at the subway |
When we arrived in NYC I was really impressed from this tall buildings, the traffic and all this
people. I mean I saw the city in the last two days but I didn´t have time to look around and look at New York City. I took lots of pictures and most of the time we went shopping. I have spend a lot of money on this day. I bought a Hard Rock Cafe T-Shirt cause I want to have a Hard Rock Cafe T-shirt from every city I´ve been. I already have a pullover from Venice but I missed it in the other cities. Anywise we went to the M&M store, the Disney store, H&M, Forever 21, we bought an
´I love NY´pullover on the Streets of NYC. We all got the same pullover. We took a picture with the statue of Liberty and with Ironman. We saw a naked Cowboy and at the end of the day we went on the top of the Empire State Building. The view was amazing and so beautiful. It was pretty cold up there but the view was worth it. So I guess we had the whole NY packet and it´s definitely a day that I never forget.

New York Comic Con #3
Why I went to New York Comic Con?
So I went to New York Comic Con because my host dad loves Comic books, superheroes and Disney. It was not his first Comic Con and when I was in Germany and e-mailed with my host family he invited me to New York Comic Con this year. I said that I´ll looking forward to go to New York Comic Con. I thought it would be a great experience because I love Superheroes too and there would be so many people that I would like to see. So I rally looked forward to go to New York Comic Con and I was really excited. At the end Comic Con was much different from how I had imagined it. It was much better and much more fun.
My experience at New York Comic Con
My experience from New York Comic Con is that it´s definitely worth it to go there. How often you want to go is your own decision but it´s worth it to go at least once. So at the first day: waiting in line is one of the main things your doing at Comic Con. We came into the building and we had to wait until the Comic Con began. And when it opens my host sister, her boyfriend and me were running to the pretty little lairs interview and what we had to do again? Right. Waiting in line for one hour. Actually it wasn´t one hour. It said it´s one hour but it didn´t feel like one hour. Anywise when we got into the room we were waiting for the beginning. The first interview was with the actors from the show ´Stitchers´. I don´t know the show. The second Interview was with the actors from Pretty Little Lairs. They spoilerd a lot but I think it was still very cool to see the actors in real life. The rest from Comic Con was really awesome, full, loud and it felt like a different world. There was so many people dressed up in amazing costumes, actors that you just saw on TV are now so close to you and you really can talk to them. At the first day it was really confusing too because it was my first Comic Con and I didn´t know wehere to go and where what is. The second day was better. Than I kew where what is and what I have to do. So I would say New York Comic Con is a great experience for everyone who's interested in Comic Books and Superheroes. Who wants to see celebrities should go to San Diego Comic Con.

Meine Erfahrung mit New York Comic Con
Richtig: Eine Stunde warten.

The wedding
On October2nd my host family and I went to a wedding from one of there friends. In the morning I had fever so I could´t go to school but in the afternoon I felt a little better so I could go to the wedding. My host family gave me lots of Medicine so I didn´t had fever anymore. So I got ready for the wedding and was waiting for my family that they come from school, work and college. When they came home they got ready really fast and we left around 3 p.m. At 4 p.m. we arrived at the place where the wedding would take place. It was really cold that day and we had to wear a dress and High Heels. So we went into the building and we just wait that the wedding starts. I didn´t know everyone from the wedding. The most persons are random to me. It was really weird to go on a wedding from random people. I just know one person because she was on our house at one day. After the wedding someone told me she was the mother of the bride. After 15 minutes waiting the ceremony starts. When I saw the groom the first thing that I thought was: "He´s really young." Than the Bride came out and the first thing that I thought than was: "They are so cute together." And they really are. After the ceremony the Newlyweds took wedding photos and we had food. When they were back we had more food. Much food. The Newlyweds took photos with there guests and on the tables were little cameras and they said: "Take photos with me and say cheese." That was nice and my host sister and me took lots of photos. After a while I start to feel sick again and we left when the Bride and groom start to dance. General I would say the wedding wasn´t different from a german wedding I went to. Just the food was different. Maybe it was because it was a christian wedding and my family is christian too. But it was actually really fun even when I didn´t know anyone except my host family.

packing my bag and my flight
Packing my bag:
What you need:
- clothes. Many clothes. Pack as many as you can put in your bag. You need it because you don´t know when you have time to go shopping and to wear the same things every week again...no. I think nobody likes that.
- your own shampoo. As I said you don´t know when you have time to go shopping so it´s better to pack shampoo.
- if you have any Allergies -> bring your Medication that you use in Germany.
- presents for your host family. Make sure that you don´t buy to much. Remember: You have a weight limit for your bag. Buy some little and not so expensive things from your area. If your not sure what you can buy you can ask your host family what they like or buy something for there hobby (you can read the hobby´s in the documents that you get when you have your family).
- charger for your phone/Laptop/camera/etc.
- your phone/Laptop (first ask your host family if your allowed to bring your own laptop)/camera
- other Hygiene products like your toothbrush, Body lotion, any cremes that you use in Germany too (make sure that it´s not to much) and girls: Bring things for THIS week!!!
- Maybe some pictures from your family and your friends
- Credit Card (you can pay every smallest thing with a credit card. Shopping= Credit Card, Bakery= Credit Card. Bring money in cash too but at most you use your credit card. It´s really weird.)
What you NOT need:
- definitely not a hairdryer. If you think you really need one than you can bring one but I don´t use my hairdryer here in Amerika.
- towels. I´m allowed to use the towels from my Host family and i think you don´t have to bring it too.
- a case for your pillow/blanket. You get it from your host family.
My flight:
At the last evening in Germany my best friend and I made a sleepover because she wants to bring me to the airport. We packed my bag at the last day and we went to a restaurant with my grandma to say goodbye. After that we made a little ´goodbye-tour´. We went to my other grandma. My aunt,my uncle and my little cousin were there too. We said goodbye to them and talked a little bit about America. And then I went to my other best friend. That was so sad because she want to come to my house after her work but she was to tiered and her train has failed so she was home later than it already is. So I rang at her doorbell and run up the stairs into her arms and hug her. I didn´t tell her that I was coming. It was spontaneously and so I surprised her. If she realized that I was there to say goodbye to her she start crying. I tried to calm her down but she still cried and smiled because she was so happy. She gave me one of her pullover that she got in London and it smells like her. She said it´s that i don´t forget her. After that we visit my other aunt and than we went back home. My best friend and i watched a movie and than we slept on the sofa. We had to get up very early. My flight was at 8 a.m so we had to be at the airport one hour before the flight start. I was very nervous and I didn´t realized that I really go away from home for ten moths. I wouldn´t see my family and my friends during this month. I wouldn´t be able to hug them or to talk to them personally. But I didn´t realized that. After we checked in we went to Starbucks and drank Coffee (I drank something else. I don´t like coffee.) Than it was time to say goodbye and go to my plain. I didn´t cry. It didn´t feel like that I wouldn´t see them for ten months. When I sat in the plain i was so happy that i got a place on the window. Now it was time to say goodbye Dussledorf.
After the immigration (they just ask you a few questions and that´s it. You really don´t have to be scared. They ask you something like: ,,Why are you here?" ,,How long are you staying in the US?" ,,Where you gonna stay?" and something like this so it´s really not bad.) i met my family. I saw my younger host sister for the first time and she´s really cute. I really like her because she´s like my best friends and my sister together. I like that. They were waiting with a poster that says ´Welcome at home Anne´. That was so nice and cute.
Then we went home. We stopped to eat Pizza because I was really hungry (Thank you for the Pizza dad :) ). When we arrived at home i met my host mother. She stayed at home to cook. They showed me my room and I really like it. I mean i have a waterbed. Thats so cool. After dinner they gave me a birthday cake because I went to america three days after my 17th Birthday. On this day we didn´t ate the cake. I just blow out the candles and than I went to bed.

At 9 a.m i arrived in Frankfurt. I had to stay three hours. I bought food, listend to music, went to the bathroom. And than it was 12 o´clock and time to go to my next flight. From Frankfurt to Boston. Now I really had to say: ,,Goodbye Germany." The flight was very long and very boring. I listend to music, ate the plain food (it´s really disgusting), and I slept. It was very funny that it didn´t get dark. The sun was still shining when I arrived. And the wether started to get better and better. At two p.m (american time. In Germany was eight p.m so my flight was eight hours long) i arrived in Boston. I was so tiered but I couldn´t wait to see my host family again and to see there house. I could´t wait to see Boston too. I saw Boston during the Landing and the skyscrapers was so amazing. I just saw cities like Boston in movies or on pictures on Instagram. And now I saw it in real live. That was so awesome.
